Tonight, as Iran launches attacks on Israel, it is important to remember that exactly one month ago the Biden administration granted Iran a new sanctions relief that gave the country access to billions.
The move was criticized by Republicans and downplayed by Democrats and the liberal media.
It’s just another reminder that Biden has a habit of making the wrong foreign policy decision every time.
FOX News reported in March:
US releases billions in sanctions relief on Iran as Tehran’s proxies wreak havoc in region
White House national security adviser John Kirby said Friday that funds from a sanctions waiver extended this week by the Biden administration to allow Iraq to buy energy from Iran will not go to its “mullahs” .
“None of this money goes to the mullahs. None of this money goes to Tehran. The expected sanctions relief actually goes to vendors who provide humanitarian assistance to the Iranian people,” Heinrich told Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich during a Friday press conference. “Not only will the Iraqi people not suffer from this, but the Iranian people will not suffer from this.”
“This allows Iraq to wean itself off Iranian energy so we can keep the lights on,” Kirby said.
The Biden administration came under criticism on Thursday after it again extended a sanctions waiver despite repeated pushback from those who feared Iran could misuse the funds.
All of this is connected.

Let’s not forget that Joe Biden signed a sanctions waiver that gives Iran access to $10 billion in cash in foreign banks. He signed the waiver on March 13, a full 6 weeks after an Iranian-backed drone attack killed 3 American soldiers.

Biden is a disaster at foreign policy. People tried to warn about it and now here we are.
