(Reuters) – RTX Corp has received subpoenas from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an investigation into 2023 revelations regarding the use of metal powder in engines made by its subsidiary Pratt and Whitney.
The defense contractor’s regulatory filings on Monday showed it was cooperating with the SEC in the investigation.
Pratt and Whitney requested an inspection last year to check for potentially faulty components, linked to the use of metal powder, in its turbofan jet engines.
