Senator Rand Paul has publicly stated his intention to delve into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic by examining what he describes as “secret” trips made by Dr. Anthony Fauci to the CIA before the outbreak.
The Kentucky senator and doctor revealed to DailyMail.com that his ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of Fauci’s interactions with the CIA, especially given the intelligence agency’s ambiguous stance on the origins of the pandemic.
Dr. Fauci, who served as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) until his recent departure, is under scrutiny for his alleged frequent and secret visits to the CIA.
While the Department of Energy and the FBI lean toward the theory that COVID-19 leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, the CIA’s official position remains that the virus likely originated from animals.
“We have another CIA whistleblower who says that the scientific committee in charge of investigating the origins of the virus actually voted six to one saying that it came from the laboratory and that they were canceled by CIA superiors“Paul told the DailyMail.
In 2023, The Gateway Pundit reported that a CIA whistleblower had come forward, alleging that the CIA had manipulated the investigation into the origins of COVID-19. According to letters from House Coronavirus Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, the CIA offered “significant monetary incentives” to officials to change their findings.
House Coronavirus Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (2nd District R-OH) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (10th District R-OH) sent a separate letter to the Director of CIA William Burns and former CIA director of operations Andrew Makridis, shedding new light on the agency’s actions regarding the origins of COVID-19.
“The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic (Select Subcommittee) and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) (together “the Committees”) have received troubling new whistleblower testimony regarding the Agency’s investigation into the origins of the COVID-19,” according to Wenstrup and Turner’s letter to CIA Director William Burns on Tuesday.
“A current senior Agency official has stepped forward to provide information to the committees regarding the Agency’s analysis of the origins of COVID-19,” the letter reads.
The CIA has assigned seven agents to a specialized COVID discovery team to investigate the origin of COVID-19.
According to a high-ranking whistleblower within the CIA, the agency offered “significant monetary incentives” to officials on a COVID-19 investigative team to change their positions on the origin of the virus. Initially, six of the seven members of this COVID discovery team leaned toward a “low-confidence assessment” that the virus likely originated in a laboratory in Wuhan.
According to the whistleblower, at the end of his review, six of the seven team members believed that intelligence and science were sufficient to make a low-certainty assessment that COVID-19 came from a laboratory in Wuhan, China. The seventh member of the team, who was also the oldest, was the only officer who believed that COVID-19 originated from zoonosis,” Wenstrup and Turner wrote.
“The whistleblower further alleges that to arrive at the final public decision on uncertainty, the other six members were given a significant monetary incentive to change their position,” they added.
Senator Paul’s investigation also includes financial aspects, including a major increase in NIAID’s budget for biomedical weapons research under Fauci.
In 2015, the NIH, under the direction of Dr. Tony Fauci, awarded a $3.7 million grant to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The Daily Mail reported:
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Paul revealed that Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), was friends with the CIA, which is notably one of the few federal agencies that has not yet clarified the origins of COVID-19.
«The CIA still says it officially [COVID-19 is] probably from animals,” Paul said. “We also have stories, rumors and insinuations that Fauci was a frequent unofficial visitor to the CIA.”
He pointed out that the CIA disagrees with the Department of Energy’s findings FBI who said the pandemic likely originated from a leak in a Wuhan, Chinalaboratory.
And that although an initial CIA assessment found the lab leak theory likely, senior agency officials overruled their findings.
The agency’s U-turn and its secret meetings with Fauci are suspicious, Paul said.
On Tuesday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released a stunning report finding that 15 different federal agencies knew that the Wuhan laboratory in China had been trying to create a COVID-19 virus since 2018.
No officials or employees of these 15 agencies have revealed the truth to the American public during the pandemic.
FOX News reported:
How extensive was the great COVID cover-up? Well, my investigation recently found that government officials from 15 federal agencies knew in 2018 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was trying to create a coronavirus like COVID-19.
These officials knew that the Chinese laboratory proposed to create a virus similar to COVID 19 and none of them revealed this plan to the public. In fact, 15 agencies with knowledge of this project have continually refused to release any information regarding this alarming and dangerous research.
Government officials representing at least 15 federal agencies were briefed on a project proposed by Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
This project, the DEFUSE project, proposed inserting a furin cleavage site into a coronavirus to create a new chimeric virus that would be strikingly similar to the COVID-19 virus.
What does this mean?
This means that at least 15 federal agencies knew from the beginning of the pandemic that the EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology were seeking federal funding in 2018 to create a virus genetically very similar if not identical to COVID-19.
