“Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary this week denounces a New York judge’s recent decision to fine former President Donald Trump a staggering $355 million, describing him as “un-American.”

O’Leary criticizes Trump’s ruling

Last Friday, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron hit Trump with this fine and banned him from conducting business in his native New York for three years. This did not please O’Leary, who immediately spoke out to burn the decision.

“For the fact that he was found guilty, you might as well find every real estate developer on Earth guilty,” O’Leary told the New York Post. “I don’t understand where anyone got hurt… What builder doesn’t ask the highest price for any building he built?”

“It’s not healthy for the country,” he continued. “I want this to be reviewed, appealed and rejected because it is wrong for everyone who participates. If this judgment persists. Every developer needs to be jailed. They must be found guilty. They need to be put out of business. You can’t do this to each other. It’s not about Trump.”

“It’s scary. He is unfair. I would even say he is not American,” O’Leary added.

Without stopping there, O’Leary called New York a “losing state,” predicting a mass exodus of businesses from the state if the decision stands.

“We are simply amazed. You have no idea. The shock wave has rippled through the real estate sector. Crazy,” she concluded.

O’Leary previously told CNN: “I don’t think this thing will ever survive appeal, regardless of the size of the fine. This doesn’t even make sense.”

Trump tears up the sentence

Even Trump himself rejected the ruling.

“A crooked New York State judge, working with a totally corrupt attorney general who ran on the basis of ‘I’ll get Trump,’ before he knew anything about me or my company, just fined me $355 million based solely on the fact that he built a BIG COMPANY. ELECTION INTERFERENCE. WITCH HUNT,” Trump said in response, according to WSAU.

Trump went on to say that the judge’s decision was “a complete and utter SHAME,” adding that “there were no victims, no damages, no complaints. Only happy banks and insurance companies (that made a lot of money), BIG financial statements, that didn’t even include the most valuable asset – the TRUMP brand, IRONCLAD disclaimers (buyer beware and do your due diligence) and incredible properties around the world.”

Trump’s lawyer speaks

Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, indicated that they will appeal, describing the decision as “a blatant injustice: plain and simple and given the grave stakes, we are confident that the Appellate Division will overturn this shameful verdict and put an end to this relentless persecution of my clients.”

It was reported last month that this case is the first of its kind as there were no victims or official crimes listed in the lawsuit due to repayment of loans to banks and no one taking losses in the business. Many see it as yet another witch hunt against Trump launched in a liberal city with the aim of preventing him from being re-elected later this year.

It’s rare for a public figure to defend Trump in any way, so we applaud O’Leary for having the courage to speak out against this anti-American decision. In the end, this ruling will likely only strengthen Trump, as it only makes it more obvious that he is indeed being unfairly targeted by the left!
