Synopsis” (NASDAQ: SNPS) planned the $35 billion acquisition of Ansys (NASDAQ:ANSS) has received a request for additional information from the Federal Trade Commission.
The FTC issued a second request on April 1 after the companies pulled-and-refile in an attempt to avoid a second one request, according to a Filing S-4 on Thursday.
The update comes after a report last month that China’s antitrust regulator is working with third parties as it evaluates the Ansys (ANSS) deal. The parties raised some horizontal concerns and asked the regulator to review the deal even if it fell below the newly implemented thresholds.
News of the second request was reported earlier by Capitol Forum.
Synopsys (SNPS) agreed in January to buy engineering software company Ansys (ANSS) in a cash-and-stock deal worth about $35 billion.
