Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he won’t donate money to Trump or Biden
Billionaire Elon Musk said Wednesday that he will not donate to the presidential election campaigns of Joe Biden or Donald Trump.
“Just to be very clear, I will not donate money to any of the US presidential candidates,” Musk wrote in a tweet.
Musk’s comments follow a New York Times article on Tuesday, which said he had recently met with Trump. The report said Trump and his team are working to find additional donors.
In a research note on Wednesday, analysts said Trump has likely cleared the final hurdle to securing the Republican nomination.
“As expected, former President Trump’s results were very strong on Super Tuesday (March 5), as he is likely to win 14 of 15 state nominating contests, as of this writing,” they explained.
“With about half of all Republican delegates now pledged, Trump has won about 90% of them and has all but formally secured the Republican nomination,” they added.
