Tesla Cybertruck Chief Engineer Hints Bigger Battery Coming – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Tesla Inc‘S TSLA Cybertruck was finally released late last year.

The vehicle boasts a maximum range of just over 300 miles, which many have found disappointing. Now, a teardown teaser video of Munro and co of the Cybertruck’s battery pack revealed a significant amount of empty space within the structure. This has led to widespread speculation about its intended use.

While many have speculated that the space could accommodate additional batteries to extend range, many have also suggested that the space is needed to maintain optimal battery cell temperatures.

The discussion was further fueled by a social media post stating that “The package is half empty.” A Cybertruck lead engineer chimed in on the conversation, replying with a tongue-in-cheek comment: “I’d say it’s half full…” This response was interpreted as a suggestion that future versions of the Cybertruck might actually include more range capacity cells extended. This back and forth has piqued the interest of Tesla followers and tech enthusiasts, who ponder the potential of a Cybertruck with even greater road endurance.
CEO of Tesla Elon Musk previously elaborated on This range extender is designed specifically for those who take exceptionally long journeys or who need extra power for tasks such as towing heavy loads up steep grades.

With the combination of the current battery design and the prospect of an additional range extender, Tesla is positioning the Cybertruck as a versatile and rugged option for both everyday use and more demanding transportation needs.
