A Tesla Inc TSLA the executive confirmed on Saturday that the electric vehicle giant will sell its stainless steel Cybertruck in Canada due to growing interest.
What happened: “We will definitely sell Cybertruck in Canada – insanely huge interest,” Rohal Patel he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“I have to file some routine documents, but I hope they can be resolved soon,” he added. Patel is vice president of public policy and business development at Tesla.
Last week, Tesla showed off its entire lineup at the Canadian auto show in Toronto, including its latest stainless steel Cybertruck. The auto show began Feb. 16 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center and concluded Sunday evening local time. The booth saw high traffic, as demonstrated by videos on social media.
Other geographic areas for the Cybertruck: In January, CEO of Tesla Elon Musk have dampened hopes of the Cybertruck’s launch in China. Getting approval for the stainless steel vehicle on roads would be difficult in China, the CEO said, without explaining why.
In December, Tesla’s chief engineer Lars Moravy said Higher gear that the vehicle would have difficulty obtaining approval in Europe. They said the vehicle’s external protrusions will hinder compliance with EU safety rules aimed at protecting pedestrians.
Currently, the truck is only available in the United States with a starting price of $79,990 for the all-wheel drive variant.
