Overall U.S. economic activity “has increased slightly” since early January, the Federal Reserve said in its Beige Book survey of regional trade contacts released Wednesday. This is an update from the previous report published on January 17 which showed “little to no change” in activity.
Eight districts reported slight to modest growth in activity, three saw no change and one observed a slight weakening, according to the document, released two weeks before each meeting of the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
