The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to review the case involving former President Donald Trump’s claims of presidential immunity.

Special Counsel Jack Smith had urged the court to reject Trump’s request for a review of presidential immunity.

In another sign that the Supreme Court’s decision to review presidential immunity is a big win for Trump, left-leaning media analysts aren’t exactly hiding their pessimistic predictions.
Axios found election law expert Rick Hasen, who wrote: “The game could be over.”
“In this case there is nothing Trump wants more than a delay. If he wins in November and isn’t on trial before Inauguration Day, there’s a good chance he never will be,” Axios adds.
Former Justice Department attorney and MSNBC legal analyst Andrew Weissmann speculated that the Supreme Court could give Trump another victory.
“By granting the stay, [SCOTUS] he is essentially saying this [Trump] he’s effectively immune… And I think they ultimately gave Trump a victory here, and I think they’ll give Trump a victory in the Colorado case as well.”
