The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) kept interest rates stable at 4.35%, after increasing them by 425 basis points over the past two years. The analyst expected the RBA to keep interest rates at 4.35%.
The RBA also left the interest rate paid on the stock exchange Settlement balances unchanged at 4.25%.
The monthly CPI indicator remained stable at 3.4% over the year to January, with a slowdown in recent months, led by moderation in goods inflation. Services inflation remains high and is moderating at a more gradual pace.
Central forecasts expect inflation to return to the target range of 2-3% in 2025, and to the midpoint in 2026.
