House Republicans are furious at another president, so if Marjorie Taylor Greene moves forward with her motion to vacate, Mike Johnson is probably done.
Punchbowl News reported:
Johnson faces a torrent of Republican criticism before he even presents a new proposal for Ukraine. FISA reauthorization is in trouble. President Joe Biden’s impeachment inquiry is faltering as Johnson is forced to hold off on articles of impeachment for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for a few more days in an effort to ensure Senate Democrats don’t simply reject them. Things haven’t gone so well for House Republicans in recent months, to put it mildly.
Let’s not make too much of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) frequent rants. But Greene’s five-page letter Monday, in which she made the case to replace Johnson, should be taken quite seriously. If Greene follows through with the vacate motion she filed last month after Johnson pushed through the government’s fiscal 2024 funding package, there’s a good chance she could be ousted.

Mike Johnson now finds himself in the same position Kevin McCarthy was in when he was kicked to the curb. McCarthy had to decide whether to crash the United States and the global economy by allowing the country to default or lose his jobs.
Johnson must decide whether to let Ukraine fall to Russia or lose his job.
The difference is that if Johnson proposed a Ukraine bill, Democrats could save it from the vacate motion
However, if Democrats bail out Johnson, his term would end. He will be seen as the man the Democrats saved and will have the title of speaker, but no power.
Whatever Mike Johnson does, he will probably end up as Speaker of the House.
