Trump is now demanding that Republican candidates and committees that use his name and image to raise money give him at least a 5% cut of the proceeds.
Politico reported:
“Beginning tomorrow, we ask that all candidates and committees who choose to use President Trump’s name, image and likeness share at least 5% of all fundraising requests to the Trump National Committee JFC. This includes, but is not limited to, submitting internal documents, sourcing vendors, and advertising,” Trump campaign co-managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita wrote in the letter, dated April 15.
They add: “Any split greater than 5% will be viewed favorably by the RNC and President Trump’s campaign and will be regularly reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”

The corporate media is circling the issue, but let’s call the scheme what it is.
Trump sees the Republican Party as a criminal operation that he heads, and like all criminal gangs, the person at the top gets a piece of the action.
The former president does not ask that his share be used to support other candidates. Trump wants the money to go to the joint fundraising agreement that he is using to direct most of the money to his super PAC to pay his legal bills.
Donald Trump is trying to convince other Republicans to pay for his lawyers.
The former president has been trying for years to find a way to make Republicans pay for using his name and image in fundraising.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Trump tries to sue people who aren’t willing to pay
Trump’s latest move is proof that the GOP is no longer a political party. It’s a gift, and Donald Trump wants his part in the action.
