Trump thought he would never be prosecuted and now that reality is taking over he isn’t taking it well.
Trump said:
In New Hampshire I should be in Georgia. I should be in North Carolina, South Carolina. I should be in a lot of different places campaigning.
But I’ve been here all day in a trial that is really a very unfair trial. These are all stories. Legal experts have reported this in recent days. These are the experts from the Wall Street Journal and it’s a story of experts who say this isn’t the case. The case is ridiculous. This is another case. They’re ridiculous. Trump accusation. Fraud is missing. There is no fraud. They are stories.
Trump later claimed that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is the real crook.

The former president keeps repeating the same lie over and over: He would be campaigning right now if he weren’t on trial. The truth is that Trump was barely on the campaign trail before the trial. Trump campaigned only one day a week and that was Saturday.
Donald Trump is not incarcerated. He can still campaign. There are 24 hours in a day.
Trump wasn’t campaigning before the trial, and he isn’t campaigning now.
The former president never thought he would be prosecuted for any of these charges, and he is finally realizing that accountability has arrived.
