Former President Donald Trump took to social media on Sunday to say that radically liberal singer Taylor Swift cannot support Joe Biden because he is “the worst, most corrupt president.” This came just hours before Swift attended the Super Bowl to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce as his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, defeated the San Francisco 49ers.
Trump seems out of his depth on Swift
Although Swift proudly supported Biden in 2020, Trump doesn’t believe she’ll be able to do so this time.
“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other music artists. Joe Biden has done nothing for Taylor, and he never will,” Trump said.
“There is no way she would support the dishonest Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money,” he continued. “Besides that, I like his boyfriend, Travis, even though he might be a liberal, and he probably can’t stand me!”

Swift’s coveted support
Swift has yet to endorse a candidate in this year’s presidential election, but her endorsement is already highly sought after. Last month, a poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek found that 18% of voters said they were “more likely” or “significantly more likely” to vote for any candidate Swift supported.
Meanwhile, 17% said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate supported by Swift, and 55% said they would not be influenced in any way by the “Anti-Hero” singer. A total of 45% of people who responded to the survey said they were Swift fans, while 54% said they were not.
“It influenced popular culture, sports and the economy of entire regions of the United States,” said communications consultant James Haggerty. “So why not politics and elections?”
“Swift is in class by herself,” added media consultant Brad Adgate. “She IS so talented, so popular and so ingrained in pop culture. No one is close to her.”

Swift hits Trump
This poll apparently came as bad news for Trump, as Swift openly stated that she was against him politically. In 2020, Swift accused Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” in response to comments he made condemning the violence that had spread across the country following the death of George Floyd.
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the courage to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” he wrote on social media at the time, according to the Daily Mail. “When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump.”
In her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana,” Swift talked about how much she regrets not openly opposing Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
“I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now,” Trump said in response.
Swift accuses Trump of ‘gaslighting’
Swift told the Guardian in 2020 that Trump is “gaslighting the American public.”
“We are a democracy – at least, we should be – where it is allowed to disagree, to disagree, to argue,” he said at the time. “I really think he thinks this is an autocracy.”
Fox News reported that Swift also accused Trump of cheating in the 2020 presidential election.
“Trump’s calculated dismantling of the USPS clearly demonstrates one thing: He is WELL AWARE that we don’t want him as our president,” he said. “He chose to blatantly cheat and put the lives of millions of Americans at risk in an effort to stay in power.”
As of this writing, Swift has yet to respond to Trump’s latest comments about her. Only time will tell if Trump is right that Swift won’t be able to support Biden this time.
