Trump has courted the United Steelworkers for support, but union President Bruce McCall has said the union will support President Biden.
McCall said on Fox News:
We are clearly leaning towards President Biden and will support him. I’m sure it will be up to our executive committee to do so in the near future.
But President Biden has really developed, at least in my lifetime, an industrial policy in this country with the Infrastructure Act and the IRA and the CHIPS and the Science Act. If you do that in conjunction with making sure that we’re on a level playing field with the rest of the world, this is real progress in America for industrial workers.

When asked why they haven’t endorsed Biden yet, McCall responded, “We haven’t had the board meeting yet.”

Trump has courted the auto workers, Teamsters and metal workers unions, with the auto and steel workers deciding to support President Biden and the Teamsters making it clear they will likely back Biden after the presidential conventions.
Donald Trump was one of the most anti-labor presidents in modern American history. Trump’s record on jobs is terrible. It would be shocking if any major union endorsed Trump. In contrast, Joe Biden has been one of the pro-labor presidents in America since FDR.
Labor won’t abandon Biden, and it certainly won’t abandon him for Donald Trump.
