Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson launched a major defense of the United States of America over the weekend while opening for Kid Rock’s concert in Gonzales, Louisiana.

Carlson opens for Kid Rock

Newsweek reported that Kid Rock is currently on his Rock The Country tour, which features two-day stops in seven small towns across the country between April and July, with the conservative singer visiting Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky , Georgia. and South Carolina.

This past weekend, Carlson was a surprise opener for Kid Rock for his show in Gonzales, and he took the opportunity to stand up for America in a beautiful way.

“I ended up here tonight because I was having dinner at my house with Kid Rock a few months ago,” Carlson began. “He said, ‘You should come open for me on my summer tour.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m honored, obviously, but I don’t play an instrument.’ I’m actually an unemployed talk show host, so what would I do on your show?’ And he said, and I’m quoting him now, ‘You’ll find out and you’ll like it.’”

“So this was two months ago,” he continued. “And I woke up this morning and I was like, I gotta go to Gonzales, Louisiana, and open for Kid Rock. What will I say? And I had no idea until I got here.

Carlson defends America

That’s when Carlson moved on to defend America against left-wing charges that the country was “messed up.”

“The country they tell me about on the Internet is a mess,” Carlson said. “The country I experience when I walk among these crowds, or when I wake up in my town of 100 people in a rural area, is a beautiful country full of wonderful people.”

Carlson went on to say he was drawn to a lighting fixture at the Gonzales location that resembled a cross because it was “a shape I like.”

“On my way out [to the rig]this girl gets right in my face,” Carlson said. “She’s got two nose rings, a cross necklace and a Trump bracelet. And she looks right in my face and goes, ‘Ahhhhh!’ And she said, ‘Ti I love you.” And I said, “I love you too.” And I meant it. And I thought: This is the America I know. A little strange, a little crazy, full of love and beautiful. And that describes the man I am here to introduce to you.”

Carlson concluded by saying that it was “worth it” to travel a long distance to open for Kid Rock in a small-town American concert.

“Can you put a price on free life in the last free country? So let me tell you, my fellow Americans, what we have. All those gathered here tonight are free people united by our love of country and God,” Carlson said. “And in the name of that country and that God, we are here to celebrate a celebration that will not stop. And so, as I know you can, please be as loud and naughty as you can for Kid f****** Rock.

Kid Rock and Carlson’s friendship with Trump

Kid Rock and Carlson have been friends for years and are two of the few celebrities who have had the courage to stand by Trump. In a previous interview with Carlson, Kid Rock described Trump as “the greatest president” the United States “has ever had.”

“I love spending time with him, getting to know him, since he became president in the first few months, having dinner at the White House with him and from then on we really hit it off,” Kid Rock said, according to Newsweek. “I can relate to him in many ways.”

Kid Rock went on to say that Trump isn’t afraid to state “what’s on his mind,” adding that “if you look [Trump’s] his resume and who he is as a whole, there’s a lot more good there than anything else.
