Have you shopped at Walmart recently? You may be entitled to seek up to $500 from a major class action lawsuit over allegedly misleading pricing.
To qualify for a share of the $45 million settlement, you must have purchased certain products at a Walmart store between October 19, 2018 and January 19, 2024.
Eligible groceries include specific meat, poultry, pork, and seafood products priced by weight, as well as certain produce (oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines) sold loose in bags, such as 3-pound bags of oranges .

Why does this agreement happen? The lawsuit alleged that shoppers were overcharged and “paid more than the lowest advertised in-store price” for the products in question, according to the settlement website. Walmart continues to deny that claim, and a settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.
How to Claim Money from Walmart Settlement
Some Walmart shoppers eligible to take part in the deal received emails containing an alert ID and confirmation code; this information can be used to quickly file a complaint online.
The settlement amount is 2% of purchases made, up to a total of $500. Payments will be distributed via online methods like Venmo or Zelle, but there is also a backup option to receive a check. (Payment amounts may be adjusted depending on the number of requests submitted.)
Realistically, very few people will qualify for the maximum amount: You would have to average just under $5,000 in annual spending on qualifying items to be eligible for the $500 payment. Additionally, claiming your share of compensation will be more complicated if the Your purchases were not tied to an email on file at Walmart.
Shoppers who have kept receipts or have other proof of purchase can upload them with the claim and potentially receive a larger sum (up to a maximum of $500). If you Not you have receipts or purchase records, you can submit a detailed claim form and potentially receive between $10 and $25 based on the number of eligible products you certify you purchased.
For all requests the deadline for submission is June 5th.
The timeframe in which the money will be paid is unknown: the final hearing for approval is scheduled for June 12, but there could be appeals thereafter.
