WHAT? Chuck Schumer says ‘impeachment should never be used to resolve political disagreements’ (VIDEO) | The Gateway Expert

Now that Republicans are moving forward in their attempt to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Democrats have taken a very different view on the topic.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said this week that impeachment should not be used to resolve political disagreements.

This will be great news for President Trump and his supporters. What has changed?

The Washington Times reports:

Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer said Tuesday that Democrats will move to derail an impeachment trial for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, saying the charges against him are false.

Schumer hasn’t said exactly what method Democrats will use, but other senators have said it could involve filing or dismissing the case, which could be done through a majority vote.

Republicans have criticized the expected move as representing the first time in history that the Senate would shirk its duty to conduct a trial after the House impeached an official.

But Mr. Schumer said he viewed the case against Mr. Mayorkas as illegitimate, and seemed confident he had the votes to succeed.

“We will try to resolve this issue as quickly as possible,” Schumer, a New York Democrat, told reporters. “Impeachment should never be used to resolve political disagreements.”

Mayorkas deserves to be impeached. The same goes for Biden.
